As part of the District's 75th Anniversary year of festivities, the District and the Baldwin-Whitehall Educational Foundation (BWEF) were pleased to announce the inaugural inductees of the Distinguished Highlander Alumni Hall of Fame during the 2014-2015 school year.
The Distinguished Highlander Alumni Hall of Fame was designed to recognize the significant personal and professional achievements of Baldwin-Whitehall School District alumni. Honorees are a part of a permanent exhibition at Baldwin High School and were recognized at the District's 75th Diamond Anniversary Gala which was held on May 2, 2015 at South Hills Country Club.
"We can't think of a better way to celebrate the District's 75th Anniversary than to recognize the contributions of these individuals," said Dr. Randal A. Lutz, Superintendent of Schools. "While their achievements are extremely diverse, our inductees represent one common idea - a future of unlimited potential for each of our current 4,118 students."
From Kindergarten to Seniors, 25 students gathered under the direction of Baldwin High School teacher Brad Schulte to produce a video, formally announcing the first-ever inductees to the Distinguished Highlander Hall of Fame. Lindsay Bonetti, 6th Grade student at Harrison Middle School, notes in her introduction in the video, "They are people who make the world a better place."

Champions of CharacterJust as the Distinguished Highlander Alumni Hall of Fame celebrates the past success of the District, there are many people who contribute tirelessly to the present-day student experience, making our schools a memorable, exceptional place to live, learn and prepare for the future.
For this reason, the Baldwin-Whitehall School District also recognized 6 current day Champions of Character. Each school nominated one candidate - an employee, educator, parent or community member and each of these individuals were also recognized at the Diamond Anniversary Gala. |

As part of the Diamond Anniversary celebration, students were asked to consider their own futures and imagine what they want to be by the time they celebrate their own 75th birthday by creating a poster to illustrate the story of their lives at age 75.
