Officer Sean Sluganski Memorial Scholarship
The scholarship application period is now open.
Deadline to submit a 2024 application: Sunday, April 28, 2024. The Officer Sean Sluganski Memorial Scholarship was established in 2023 to honor the legacy of Officer Sean Sluganski (BHS '09) of the McKeesport Police Department who was killed in the line of duty on February 6, 2023. The annual scholarship provides financial assistance to graduating seniors of Baldwin High School who are pursuing a career in law enforcement or crime prevention. The scholarship is co-sponsored by the Sluganski Family, the Baldwin Borough Police Department, Baldwin Township, the Whitehall Police Department, Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 91, the McKeesport Police Department, the Baldwin-Whitehall School District and the Baldwin-Whitehall Educational Foundation. |

Scholarship Applicants
This scholarship is presented annually to a Baldwin High School senior. Applicants must carry a minimum 3.0 grade point average and be in good standing with the Baldwin-Whitehall School District. Additional requirements include:
Applications are evaluated anonymously by an independent committee and certificates of scholarship are presented at senior recognition night. To be considered for this scholarship, follow the instructions on the online application.

This scholarship is presented annually to a Baldwin High School senior. Applicants must carry a minimum 3.0 grade point average and be in good standing with the Baldwin-Whitehall School District. Additional requirements include:
- cover letter describing your service orientation, volunteer work, and additional details,
- copy of your high school transcript indicating a grade point average of 3.0,
- two letters of recommendation,
- personal reflection in the form of an essay response to question prompts in the application.

- Become an angel donor and make a pledge for Sean's online birthday fundraiser, held annually on Oct. 29. Our one-day goal is $5,000 and angel donors can:
- pledge a full match of $5,000,
- pair with another group to pledge $2,500 each, or
