Entering the Workforce Scholarship
The scholarship application period is now open.
Deadline to submit a 2024 application: Sunday, April 28, 2024.
Approximately 10% of the graduating class of Baldwin High School is entering the workforce instead of pursuing a post-secondary education. To support this population, BWEF will award the Entering the Workforce Scholarship beginning in 2024. The scholarship will be funded through an annual fundraiser held at Definitely You in Brentwood Towne Square. BWEF would like to thank owner Bruce Bobak and the staff of Definitely You for their generosity and support of this scholarship.
Eligibility
Baldwin High School students who, upon graduation, have secured full-time employment or intend to pursue their own entrepreneurial interests are eligible to apply. This scholarship will provide students with funding to aid them in the earliest stage of their careers. Applicants must carry a minimum grade point average of 2.0 and be in good standing with the Baldwin-Whitehall School District. They must also demonstrate the ability to balance academic responsibilities and volunteering commitments, employment, and/or extra-curricular activities.

The application includes:
- Cover letter with personal information,
- A copy of your high school transcript indicating a grade point average of 2.0,
- A letter verifying full-time employment from the employer,
- Or a business plan showcasing your intent to pursue self-employment,
- Two letters of recommendation,
- Personal reflection in the form of an essay response to question prompts in the application.
